Free Credit Report for Those with Good Credit, Part II

Filed under: Free Credit Report, Free Credit Reports — Free Credit Report Editor @ 3:37 pm

In the last post we talked about the importance of ordering free credit reports from each of the three credit bureaus throughout the year so that consumers can stay knowledgeable about what is being reported about their financial history and current standing. There is an inherent connection, however, between the ordering of free credit reports with those consumers who have faced credit problems. And, as we discussed, it is very important for those who have had financial problems that have been reflected on their credit report to stay on top of the improvements that they are making and their standing throughout the year through free credit reports.

But for those who have always had good credit, the need for free credit reports is just as important. After all, consumers who enjoy good credit and a high credit score have done what is necessary to maintain that standing over the years and should be invested in making sure it stays that way. The credit bureaus are not perfect; nor are the creditors supplying the bureaus with the information. It is up to us, as consumers, to ensure that everything on our credit report is accurate. And one of the ways that we can stay on top of this is through the use of free credit reports.

Free credit reports are our first line in defense in ensuring that everything is as it should be in terms of our credit score and those things that are being reported about us. Most importantly, for those who have always enjoyed good credit, the possibility of identity theft is even more alarming as it can quickly destroy the reputation we have worked so hard for over the years. Free credit reports will alert you quickly to the possibility of identity theft so that you can take steps to eradicate this information from your credit report.
